My Story
I graduated from Tufts University in 1971. I went to work teaching high school math in various Boston public schools. I got my real estate broker’s license in the mid 70’s. I worked part time selling and renting. In 1979 I began investing in real estate. I bought and sold. In the mid 80’s I retired from teaching and began to develop condos. I also got into the management of condo associations. When that market dried up I invested in property in Allston, Dorchester, and Providence. These were all rental units that I held and managed for 18 to 20 years. I sold all of it in 2001-2002. I then spent a few years taking care of my aging parents. Recently I have been buying again. I have concentrated on bank owned property and short sales.
My brokerage business is small. I have no employees. My office is in my home. Because my overhead is fairly low, I am able to offer great savings to my customers.
The other great savings comes from the fact that my customers show their own properties. I do not travel to show properties. This great time saver allows me to offer very low flat fee rates or (if preferred) very low commission rates.
